ORANGE volver

FRUIT

Orange is currently the predominant crop in the northern area of the Marina Alta. Winter is the season for citrus fruits, all rich in vitamin C, which allow to better resist cold and colds. The orange season runs from September to June.

The first-time ones are tangerines. Clemenules begin to change the color in December and among them is the Clemenvilla variety.
Then come the oranges of the Navel group, known for the special feature of a small navel at the bottom of the orange. They are the most tasty, being the Navelina the most representative. The Sanguines are distinguished by their reddish color both in the pulp and in the skin.

In the kitchen, the consumption of natural orange juice is widespread throughout the world.
It is a widely used ingredient in pastry and a powerful flavouring in all kinds of preparations.

In recent years the orange has also made the leap to the world of salads and increasingly has a greater presence in the prepared dishes of haute cuisine.
